Some shots of my finished coffee table (original plans seen here).

Here are what the pictures show, from the top:

1) The table with one coat of finish (I'm still not done with the finish, but it will pretty much look like this when completely done).

2) An earlier shot from right after the assembly and final sanding.

3) A detail of the wood grain after one coat of finish.

The completed table is about 46 inches long, 2 feet wide, and 21 inches tall. It probably weighs at LEAST 50 pounds, since I am not able to carry it on my own (well, carry it SAFELY, at least). The whole thing was made from poplar (the cheapest hardwood available), which the instructor tells me is a wood for painting, but I think it looks pretty damned nice just oiled. It'll be replacing our garage-sale-find coffee table in our living room... I'll get a picture of that when I actually go home.

There are a few in-progress shots of it on Flickr.

Very nice design. and very well executed too  I wouldn't mind having that in my house.

I agree, that wood has a very nice grain pattern and the oil has brought it out wonderfully. It'd be a real shame to paint over that. Of course I feel that way about most wood, I always prefer natural to painted, so I might be a little biased ;)

Inuyasha: Uhh...
